Godspeed, John Glenn!

John Glenn, former space astronaut and U.S. senator from Ohio, died Thursday at the age of 95, surrounded by his family. John Glenn was one of America’s first pioneers of space. He was the first American to orbit the earth. Later, he became the US senator representing the state of Ohio. He was mostly known as a hero for space exploration. President Barack Obama expressed the nation’s gratitude for Glenn’s achievement and inspiration to the nation and the world, “The last of America’s first astronauts has left us, but propelled by their example we know that our future here on Earth compels us to keep reaching for the heavens.
