Trump’s Cyberbullying a Teenage Woman Led to Rape Threats

Donald Trump attacked an 18-year-old college student, Lauren Batchelder, after she confronted him at a political forum in New Hampshire during the primaries. Lauren told Trump that she did not think he was a friend to women. The next day Trump followed that interaction by firing a tweet, castigating Batchelder as an arrogant young woman who was planted by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who was then Trump’s rival in the presidential contest. After Trump’s tweet, scary threats began to come to Lauren through threatening phone calls, emails, Facebook, and other forms. Lauren was quite afraid of what could happen to her life. She recalled those scary moments, “I didn’t really know what his supporters were going to do, and that to me was the scariest part.” Read more…
