ISIS Claims Responsibility for Istanbul Bombing

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the bombing of an upscale nightclub in Istanbul, Turkey. The deadly attack at Reina nightclub occurred on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2017, at about 01:15 FET (UTC+3), leaving 39 people dead and at least 70 injured and hospitalized.

ISIS posted their claim on Twitter, writing, “In continuation of the blessed operations which ISIS carries out against Turkey, a soldier of the brave caliphate attacked one of the most popular nightclubs while Christians were celebrating their holiday.” The claim statement has not yet been verified.
